Creating a TWO-Tier Website using WebMerge

To create a TWO-Tier Website using WebMerge, you only need ONE WebMerge setting file.

First, use the Sources Tab to open the exported datafeed. If you exported the datafeed from Excel as a tab delimited file, then set the Preset to MS Excel Text: Tab Delimited. Also Click the first line of file contains field names.

You use the Index Pages tab to create, logically enough, the Index file. Specify where you want the files generated, and select the template file to use, e.g., 0-INDEX-TEMPLATE.html

The Detail Pages tab is used to create a detailed product page for each record. Specify where you want the files generated, and select the template file to use, e.g., 0-DETAIL-PRODUCT-TEMPLATE.html This also requires using a unique identifier (SKU or PRODUCT ID) to create the file names. Below are the screen shots for this setup. There is nothing special that you need to do on the Generation Tab.
